I would like to be the first to officially welcome you to awisertraveler.com. This blog is for the first time flyer, a seasoned flyer, and everyone in-between. With the pandemic winding down, major airlines are offering amazing deals. These deals are giving more people a chance to travel the world. With all the opportunity to visit new places, excitement sometimes take over. People often forget or don’t realize how stressful traveling can be. Being prepared and educated on how to travel can alleviate a lot of that stress and anxiety. The internet is a great place for information, but it gets overwhelming. A Wiser Traveler is here to offer some guidance and wisdom. I want to help by sharing my experience with traveling. Thanks to my mom, traveling became a part of my life at a very young age. She has been working for a major airline for over 20 years. Most of my family (me included) followed suit and found various careers in the airline industry. I, myself, have been working for a major airline for a little over 10 years now. You can say traveling is in our blood. We receive various benefits working for an airline but the best benefit of all is the free (or heavily discounted) travel benefits. Not to say flying standby doesn’t come with its share of issues, but it’s still a great perk to have. Now as an experienced standby traveler, I’ve observed A LOT of do’s and don’t when in an airport. I would like to share them with all of you. I’ll share anything from TSA rules to airlines policies to personal experience stories from work and travel. I’ll try my best to make your upcoming travels as painless as I can by making you A Wiser Traveler.
